Child's Play

Content and Indicative Pricing
People remember their weddings for the rest of their lives, but after the day the only tangible reminders are the dress and the photo album. And the spouse, of course; they count too.
Child's Play suggest you speak to a number of photographers to find the one with whom you have best rapport and empathy since these are key factors to success on the day. A review of their shooting style can be helpful but most photographers are quite versatile and so we would suggest that you are not too discouraged if the style of pictures they present is not to your liking - it may be more a reflection on previous clientele than a predictor of style for your wedding. We would urge you to pay close attention to the quality of their work and in particular their levels of service.
If, after reviewing several photographers you find Child's Play a good match for your expectations, we would invite you to discuss your exact requirements based around the services we offer, described below.
Each wedding is unique and so it is difficult to be exact with prices. However, as a guide, we offer three levels of service as bundled "packages". There is nothing restrictive about these packages and the final album remains flexible in design, although additions may be subject to further small charges.
We offer the same extensive and attentive service for each package and they differ only in the number of images delivered, so we have stayed away from package names based on precious metals (silver, gold, platinum) or stones (sapphire, ruby, diamond); we feel they suggest a degraded level of service for anything other than the top option.
Shoot 30
- Introduction - typically an evening consultation lasting around one hour at the Child's Play studio or elsewhere by arrangement. Album styles are introduced but not selected at this stage since the details of the day are probably not finalised. A non-refundable deposit is payable at the time of booking.
- Trial Shoot - sometimes up to a year before the event, typically not less than six months before the day.
- Trial Shoot viewing and consultation - around two weeks after the trial shoot. Framed prints from the Trial Shoot are available to purchase; there is no time limit on this availability.
- Pre-wedding Consultation - typically around two months before the wedding. The outstanding balance for the Shoot 30 package is payable on or before this date. Timing and location details are established and guidelines for shooting on the day are agreed, including a shot list if appropriate.
- Wedding Shoot - several hundred images are recorded by one or more Child's Play photographers.
- Wedding Shoot viewing - after weeding out the shots with Uncle Bob's eyes closed, the shots are presented in a digital slide show at the Child's Play studio or elsewhere by arrangement. The best 30 images of the day are selected for inclusion into the album and the album style is finalised. More images may be added to the album subject to further small charges, payable on this day. By negotiation, this session may be split into two parts, a viewing and an album design session. It typically occurs about 1 month after the wedding day and can often take 4 hours or more. Framed prints of any of the wedding pictures are available to purchase; there is no time limit on this availability.
- Wedding Album Delivery - the final album is delivered to your home personally.

Evening Shoot
Whichever package you choose, we offer an additional "evening shoot" service. Our standard wedding service finishes with the end of the wedding breakfast. However many weddings offer a later, more general evening celebration. Venue permitting, Child's Play will set up their portable studio equipment to take group shots slightly away from the main celebration. We suggest allowing people to group themselves rather than any organised agenda and we find these shots in the evening are often warm engaging portraits of people relaxing into a celebratory evening after a spectacular day.
The shots taken during this session are included in the viewing and can be included in the album selection as described above. Guests are free to review the images as they are captured and join in what is, in effect, a free-for-all studio session.
Although we normally like to arrange this service in advance, it may be arranged on the day subject to other commitments for the photographer.
